I chose to highlight “Hands on Ministry” for my first official blog. “Hands on Ministry” is my chosen charity for children. All children are precious and no one knows this better than Rick the founder of Hands on Ministry.
I am going to use the words found on the Facebook page of Hands On Ministry.
“Hands On Street Ministries” is dedicated to serving the needs of Saskatoon’s inner city youth and children. We offer a safe place, prayers, and the hope that is found in knowing Jesus Christ.
The founder Rick Langlais, through his own life experiences and many adversities, has been blessed with the innate ability to share the word of Jesus. Standing at the end of the road, and ready to jump off the edge, is when he learned about the love and forgiveness that God offers through Jesus. Since dedicating his life to serving God, he has been committed to offering help, hope and purpose to people who know the same struggles he did.
Rick founded Hands On Street Ministries in 1992. Since that time, Hands On has operated in a number of different locations on 20th Street in Saskatoon and is now located at 140 Avenue F North. We are grateful for our volunteers who are equally dedicated to caring for Saskatoon’s street people in a dignified manner. Hands On is blessed to have a well-rounded Board of Directors that helps give guidance and direction to this dynamic ministry, which operates exclusively on charitable donations.”
Last year I had sixty frames of similar size donated to Hands On Ministry from a local organization. When I delivered those frames I informed the staff that I would donate the mats for the frames and that I would come and place them all. To date I have framed thirty five photos of their precious children and the photos are placed on Hands On Ministry Hall of Fame.
